Copy the folder
Put Ekalix Sight on any Windows Server in your network. Nothing is installed on the servers it watches.
Give it a database
It keeps settings and history in your own SQL Server - 2016 SP1 or later, Express is fine.
Add your servers
Add them one by one or find them from the directory. Ekalix reads them with read-only permissions.
Safe to point at production.
- Read-only. Ekalix Sight does not change your servers. The one optional exception is a small Extended Events session for deadlock history, created only if you choose to.
- No agents, no inbound ports on the servers you monitor.
- Encrypted secrets. Stored passwords and keys are encrypted and never shown again.
- Windows sign-in and roles - Viewer, Operator, Auditor, Administrator, Owner.
- Tamper-evident audit trail of every sign-in and change.
- Your data stays yours - in your network, in your database.
Frequently asked.
Does Ekalix Sight need agents on my servers?
No. It reads SQL Server over its normal connection, Windows and IIS over WinRM, and MongoDB over its own protocol - with read-only permissions.
Will it slow my servers down?
No noticeable effect. A typical reading costs SQL Server a few milliseconds of CPU, and Ekalix shows you its own cost on every server so you can check.
Where is my data kept?
In your own SQL Server database, inside your network. Nothing is sent to Ekalix.
Which versions are supported?
SQL Server 2016 SP1 and later for Ekalix's own database; monitored SQL Servers, Windows Server, IIS and MongoDB replica sets across current supported versions. Ask us about older ones.
